A Few Fall Favorites…

Unfortunately, the CHiC scribe took a back seat to the flu AND strep throat (at the same time, I might add) these last few weeks, so I’m playing catch up in a big way!  In an effort to be a swift scribe – in addition to a CHiC one – I thought I’d add a simple post about some of my favorite finds on Pinterest right now!

A colleague introduced me to the site (I’m ashamed to say I’m a bit late to the game) and was thrilled to find lots of inspiration for the CHiC scribe.  With the temperatures slowly beginning to drop in Houston and hints of fall in the air, it’s fun to daydream a bit through the thousands of fashion finds.  While I’ll make a mental note of several styles to find later in my favorite stores and boutiques – often at a discounted price! – I’ll also take some of these ideas and “go shopping” in my own closet to pair old items in a new way.  I’m always amazed at some of my favorite “new” outfits, many of which have lived in my breakfast-room-turned-master-closet for years.

For example, worn plaid button-ups scream fall to me – and paired with a bun (always!) – you’ve got a bit of glam + weekend chic. (See above).  Because I loved these photos so much, I just found an inexpensive version ($17.99) at Target that I plan on LIVING in this fall.

Here are some other fall looks that I’m currently coveting…

But what about you?  What are some of your fall must-haves that are making their way into your closets?  I’m a big fan of re-purposing what you have and finding fall trends at less-than-designer prices.  Any tips on achieving this goal? And I always focus on just a few “core” seasonal items that are classic and stand the test of time.  In addition to colored tights, fur vests, flannel button-ups, leather pants and tweed jackets, do you have any must-have fall staples?

  1. LOVE these looks! My favorite is the green coat with navy (or black? my computer screen does not do dark colors well) pants. And I love the black dress with 3/4 sleeves and the boots! As in, must-have-love them!

as with the layout on your blog. Is thks a paid theme or
did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up

  5. Hi Christi, thanks for the nice comment! Love getting those 🙂 I use the Elemin Theme on WordPress. I’d definitely recommend WordPress for a blog – it’s been great and super easy to use. It is a paid theme, and I’ve just tinkered with it over the past couple of years to make it clean and simple. Thanks for following!
